This album is pure Rub-A-Dub form the early 80s, and was the most successful release of this entertaining duo. Clint Eastwood (no, not the actor) was born as Robert Brammer and is the younger brother of the popular DJ Trinity. General Saint, born as Winston Hislop, was a moderately known British DJ.
This isn't very interesting so far, but now the well-known Henry "Junjo" Lawes joins this story. He had the clever plan to combine the young toaster Eastwood and the experienced General Saint to a congenial duet. The results were so impressive, the two even made it into the British album-charts. They soon became famous for being one of the most entertaining DJ-Teams at all. Their next release "Stop That Train" was consistently much more Pop- and Chart-compatible, which had a positive effect on the number of sold albums, but not on the quality and individuality of the music.
All of the tracks are based on impressive Dubs and Rhythms by legendary artists like the Roots Radics and of course Scientist. Some of them were adapted 1:1, only some additional sounds were added, and that's all before the two toasted their vocals over the tracks. Astonishing, most of the tracks were quite new at that time, so this release was produced according to the traditional style of DJ-greats like U-Roy or Big Youth, which always used the latest Dubs. Even if you listened to the original-tracks quite often, you won't get bored with these versions. The two are way to entertaining to bore you.
